Drugs in this class activate that receptor, and the exposure pattern decides the direction of the result. A single dose acts like the natural pulse: the label for gonadorelin in cattle states that it initiates release of endogenous LH to cause ovulation and luteinisation. Sustained exposure does the opposite: the leuprolide label records an initial increase in circulating LH and FSH but states that continuous daily administration then results in decreased LH and FSH, and that in animal studies continuous administration produces suppression of ovarian and testicular steroidogenesis after an initial stimulation. The deslorelin slow-release implant is labelled accordingly as suppressing the reproductive endocrine system and preventing production of pituitary and gonadal hormones.",[13,19,23,27,31,35
"G protein-coupled receptor; action via a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system; stimulation of LH and FSH secretion","UniProt Gonadotropin-releasing hormone receptor (P30968)","not stated on source page","https://rest.uniprot.org/uniprotkb/P30968.json","2026-09-19
"gonadorelin initiates release of endogenous LH to cause ovulation and luteinisation","DailyMed SPL, CYSTORELIN (gonadorelin) injection, Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health, for cattle","https://dailymed.nlm.nih.gov/dailymed/drugInfo.cfm?setid=50cf9edb-f318-41d2-9b98-6ea3410e8128
"initial increase in LH and FSH; continuous daily administration results in decreased LH and FSH; following an initial stimulation, continuous administration suppresses ovarian and testicular steroidogenesis","DailyMed SPL, Leuprolide acetate injection, Endo USA","https://dailymed.nlm.nih.gov/dailymed/drugInfo.cfm?setid=290b0716-2fd5-43a1-8d3c-4857c1b2eefa
"a controlled-release GnRH agonist implant suppresses the reproductive endocrine system, preventing production of pituitary and gonadal hormones","DailyMed SPL, SUPRELORIN F (deslorelin acetate) implant, Virbac AH","https://dailymed.nlm.nih.gov/dailymed/drugInfo.cfm?setid=aa5776dc-277e-4a5e-885f-6e3f05c8404b
"the 14 members: gonadorelin, goserelin, histrelin, leuprolide and triptorelin salts","RxClass / MED-RT class members, Gonadotropin Releasing Hormone Receptor Agonists (N0000175654)","https://rxnav.nlm.nih.gov/REST/rxclass/classMembers.json?classId=N0000175654&relaSource=MEDRT
"Arabic name (heading)","bAItari term layer and label review (model-written, reviewer-confirmed)","original Arabic name","https://baitari.vet/drug-classes/gonadotropin-releasing-hormone-receptor-agonists","apply-label-arabic.cjs label-core-2026-10-23","2026-10-23",[43,47
2035,"ftrixe5wbdw3amozc73oyawa","gonadorelin
2246,"ooi8bpv5fscbugs521bexq4y","triptorelin",[]]
