Weights and Treatments in Separate Notebooks
On many beef farms, weighings go in one notebook, treatments in another, and pen checks are often not written down at all, so it is hard to see how an animal or a pen has done since it arrived.
- Weights written down with no earlier weighing to compare against
- A treatment given to a whole pen recorded piecemeal, or not at all
- What gets checked changes from one visit to the next
One File per Animal, One Record per Group
Each animal has its own file in Sejel with its breed, purpose and every weighing, dated and drawn as a curve. Set the farm up as a livestock farm and divide it into herds, barns or groups you name yourself, such as fattening pens. Record a treatment for one animal or for the whole group, and attach photos. FAHS has no ready-made beef template, so you build your own checklist for body condition and pen checks. Feed rations and feedlot performance are not part of the platform, and sensor-based monitoring is planned with NABD.
