Specific uses: Used by hobby breeders preferring the natural brooding of chickens. Breeders concerned with its socio-cultural importance and conservation. Adaptability: The breed is well adapted to temperate climates. Special qualities: This breed is known for longevity. Relatively low feed consumption but actively fouraging. Resistance or tolerance: Resistance to infectious diseases and parasites. Comments: The Danish Country Chicken is also found in a black colour variety and a variety called the Lutte Chicken. The Lutte Chicken has very short legs, its name referring to its walk. It is thought to be even older than the Danish Country Chicken and is slightly heavier.
