Definition
Specific uses: The use of Hucul horses in ecosystem services within the Bieszczady National Park focuses on the active management and restoration of mountain grassland habitats. The activity is implemented as part of the project “Active conservation of endangered species and habitats in the Bieszczady National Park in 2024–2029.” Grazing is carried out on the slopes of Połonina Wetlińska in two seasonal periods, supporting natural vegetation dynamics. This approach helps assess the regeneration potential of habitats shaped by traditional pastoral practices while maintaining biodiversity dependent on grazing animals. Adaptability: They are well adapted to harsh mounitain conditions. Special qualities: Hardy, docile, easy to handle and willing animals with low feeding requirements. Their intelligence and obedience make them ideal as family recreation horse. One of the best breeds for hippotherapy.
