Do not underdose. Ensure each animal receives a complete dose based on a current body weight. Underdosing may result in ineffective treatment, and encourage the development of parasite resistance.
ADMINISTRATION
Cattle: Ivermectin Injection is to be given subcutaneously only, to reduce risk of potentially fatal clostridial infection of the injection site. Animals should be appropriately restrained to achieve the proper route of administration. Use of a 16-gauge, 1/2 to 3/4" needle is suggested. Inject under the loose skin in front of or behind the shoulder (see illustration).
When using the 50 mL, 250 mL, 500 mL or 1000 mL package size, use only automatic syringe equipment. Use sterile equipment and sanitize the injection site by applying a suitable disinfectant. Clean, properly disinfected needles should be used to reduce the potential for injection site infections.
No special handling or protective clothing is necessary.
Swine:
Ivermectin (ivermectin) Injection is to be given subcutaneously in the neck. Animals should be appropriately restrained to achieve the proper route of administration. Use of a 16- or 18- gauge needle is suggested for sows and boars, while an 18- or 20- gauge needle may be appropriate for young animals. Inject under the skin, immediately behind the ear (see illustration).
When using the 50 mL, 250 mL, 500 mL or 1000 mL package size, use only automatic syringe equipment. As with any injection, sterile equipment should be used. The injection site should be cleaned and disinfected with alcohol before injection. The rubber stopper should also be disinfected with alcohol to prevent contamination of the contents. Mild and transient pain reactions may be seen in some swine following subcutaneous administration.
Recommended Treatment Program
Swine:
At the time of initiating any parasite control program, it is important to treat all breeding animals in the herd. After the initial treatment, use Ivermectin (ivermectin) Injection regularly as follows:
BREEDING ANIMALS
Sows: Treat prior to farrowing, preferably 7-14 days before, to minimize infection of piglets.
Gilts: Treat 7-14 days prior to breeding.
Treat 7-14 days prior to farrowing.
Boars: Frequency and need for treatments are dependent upon exposure. Treat at least two times a year.
FEEDER PIGS
(Weaners/Growers/Finishers)
All weaner/feeder pigs should be treated before placement in clean quarters.
Pigs exposed to contaminated soil or pasture may need retreatment if reinfection occurs.
NOTE:
(1) Ivermectin Injection has a persistent drug level sufficient to control mite infestations throughout the egg to adult life cycle. However, since the ivermectin effect is not immediate, care must be taken to prevent reinfestation from exposure to untreated animals or contaminated facilities. Generally, pigs should not be moved to clean quarters or exposed to uninfested pigs for approximately one week after treatment. Sows should be treated at least one week before farrowing to minimize transfer of mites to newborn baby pigs.
(2) Louse eggs are unaffected by Ivermectin Injection and may require up to three weeks to hatch. Louse infestations developing from hatching eggs may require retreatment.
(3) Consult a veterinarian for aid in the diagnosis and control of internal and external parasites of swine.
Special Minor Use
Reindeer:
For the treatment and control of warbles (Oedemagena tarandi) in reindeer, inject 200 micrograms ivermectin per kilogram of body weight, subcutaneously. Follow use directions for cattle as described under ADMINISTRATION.
American Bison:
For the treatment and control of grubs (Hypoderma bovis) in American bison, inject 200 micrograms ivermectin per kilogram of body weight, subcutaneously. Follow use directions for cattle as described under ADMINISTRATION.

IVERHART PLUS Flavored Chewables are recommended for dogs 6 weeks of age and older. For dogs over 100 lbs use the appropriate combination of these flavored chewables.
ADMINISTRATION: Remove only one chewable at a time from the foil-backed blister card. Return the card with the remaining chewables to its box to protect the product from light.
Because most dogs find IVERHART PLUS Flavored Chewables palatable, the product can be ordered to the dog by hand. To avoid the risk of choking or intestinal obstruction, the chewable should be administered in a manner that encourages the dog to chew, rather than to swallow without chewing (see PRECAUTIONS and POST-APPROVAL EXPERIENCE). Chewables may be broken into pieces and fed to dogs that normally swallow treats whole. Alternatively, it may be added intact to a small amount of dog food to encourage chewing, but care should be taken to ensure that the dog consumes the complete dose at one time.
Treated animals should be observed for a few minutes after administration to ensure that part of the dose is not lost or rejected. If it is suspected that any of the dose has been lost, redosing is recommended.
IVERHART PLUS Flavored Chewables should be given at monthly intervals during the period of the year when mosquitoes (vectors), potentially carrying infective heartworm larvae, are active. The initial dose must be given within a month (30 days) after the dogs first exposure to mosquitoes. The final dose must be given within a month (30 days) after the dogs last exposure to mosquitoes.
When replacing another heartworm preventive product in a heartworm disease preventive program, the first dose of IVERHART PLUS Flavored Chewables must be given within a month (30 days) of the last dose of the former medication.
If the interval between doses exceeds a month (30 days), the efficacy of ivermectin can be reduced. Therefore, for optimal performance, the flavored chewable must be given once a month on or about the same day of the month. If treatment is delayed, whether by a few days or many, immediate treatment with IVERHART PLUS Flavored Chewables and resumption of the recommended dosing regimen will minimize the opportunity for the development of adult heartworms.
Monthly treatment with IVERHART PLUS Flavored Chewables also provides effective treatment and control of roundworms (T. canis, T. leonina) and hookworms (A. caninum, U. stenocephala, A. braziliense). Clients should be advised of measures to be taken to prevent reinfection with intestinal parasites.

Tri-Heart Plus (Ivermectin and Pyrantel)
DOSAGE
SparMectin-E Liquid for Horses is formulated for administration by stomach tube (nasogastric intubation) or as an oral drench. The recommended dose is 91 mcg of ivermectin per lb (200 mcg/kg) of body weight. Each mL contains sufficient ivermectin to treat 110 lb (50 kg) of body weight: 10 mL will treat an 1100 lb (500 Kg) horse.
ADMINISTRATION
Use a calibrated dosing syringe inserted into the bottle of measure the appropriate dose, or pour the SparMectin-E Liquid into a graduated cylinder for dose measurement. Use a clean syringe if accessing the bottle to avoid contaminating the remaining product.
Special consideration should be given to effects of potential for injury from handling, restraint, and placement of the stomach tube during administration of SparMectin-E Liquid. SparMectin-E Liquid should be administered by drench if the risks associated with tubing are of concern. Due to the potential consequences of improper administration, SparMectin-E Liquid is intended for use by a veterinarian only and is not recommended for dispensing.
SparMectin-E Liquid in 1 to 20 and 1 to 40 dilutions with tap water has been shown to be stable for 72 hours under the conditions recommended for the product (i.e., at room temperature, in a tightly closed container, protected from light). The diluted product does not promote the growth of common organisms. However, prolonged storage of the diluted product cannot be recommended, as the effects of possible contaminations and interactions with untested materials are unknown.
Administration by stomach tube (gravity or positive flow): The recommended dose can be used undiluted or diluted up to 40 times with clean tepid water. Use tepid water to flush any drug remaining in the tube into the horse's stomach.
Administration by drench: For administration of SparMectin-E by drench, an undiluted dose is recommended. Clear the horse's mouth of any food material, elevate the horse's head, and using a syringe, deposit the appropriated dose in the back of the mouth. In order to avoid unnecessary coughing or the potential for material to enter the trachea and lungs, do not use excessive pressure (squirting), do not use a large (diluted) dose volume, and do not deposit the dose in the laryngeal area. Increased dose rejection may occur if the dose is deposited in the buccal space. Keep horse's head elevated and observe the horse to insure the dose is retained.

IVERHART MAX Chew is recommended for dogs 8 weeks of age or older. For dogs over 100 lbs, use the appropriate combination of these chews. Remove only one dose at a time from the packaging. Return the remaining chew(s) to their box to protect from light. The chew can be offered to the dog by hand or added, intact, to a small amount of dog food. Care should be taken to ensure that the dog consumes the complete dose. The treated dog should be observed for a few minutes after administration to confirm that none of the dose has been lost or rejected. If it is suspected that any of the dose has been lost, redosing is recommended.
IVERHART MAX Chew should be given at monthly intervals during the period of the year when mosquitoes (vectors), potentially carrying infective heartworm larvae, are active. The initial dose must be given within a month (30 days) after the dog’s first exposure to mosquitoes. The final dose must be given within a month (30 days) after the dog’s last exposure to mosquitoes.
When replacing another heartworm preventative product in a heartworm disease prevention program, the first dose of IVERHART MAX Chew must be given within a month (30 days) after the last dose of the former medication. A heartworm test should be performed prior to and 6 months after switching heartworm preventative products.
If the interval between doses exceeds a month (30 days), the effectiveness of ivermectin can be reduced. Therefore, for optimal performance, the chew must be given once a month on or about the same day of the month. If treatment is delayed, whether by a few days or many, immediate treatment with IVERHART MAX Chew and resumption of the recommended dosing regimen will minimize the opportunity for the development of adult heartworms.

IVERHART MAX® Chew (ivermectin/pyrantel pamoate/praziquantel)
Remove only one chewable at a time from the foil-backed blister card. Return the card with the remaining chewables to its box to protect the product from light. The chewable should be administered in a manner that encourages the dog to chew, rather than to swallow without chewing. Chewables may be broken into pieces and fed to dogs that normally swallow treats whole.
Care should be taken that the dog consumes the complete dose, and treated animals should be observed for a few minutes after administration to ensure that part of the dose is not lost or rejected. If it is suspected that any of the dose has been lost, redosing is recommended. SUBCUTANEOUS
Ivomec® (ivermectin) Injection for Cattle and Swine
Noromectin Plus (ivermectin and clorsulon) Injection is to be given subcutaneously only. Animals should be appropriately restrained to achieve the proper route of administration. Use of a 16-gauge, 1/2" to 3/4" sterile needle is recommended. Inject the solution subcutaneously (under the skin) behind the shoulder (see illustration).
Any single-dose syringe or standard automatic syringe equipment may be used with the 50 mL or 100 mL pack size. When using the 250 mL, 500 mL or 1000 mL pack size, use only automatic syringe equipment.
Use sterile equipment and sanitize the injection site by applying a suitable disinfectant. Clean, properly disinfected needles should be used to reduce the potential for injection site infections.
No special handling or protective clothing is necessary.
The viscosity of the product increases in cool temperatures.
Administering Noromectin Plus at temperatures of 41°F (5°C) or below may be difficult. Users can make dosing easier by warming both the product and injection equipment to about 59°F (15°C).

Noromectin ® (ivermectin and clorsulon) PLUS
DOSAGE: This syringe contains sufficient paste to treat one 1250 lb horse at the recommended dose rate of 91 mcg ivermectin per lb (200 mcg/kg) body weight. Each weight marking on the syringe plunger delivers enough paste to treat 250 lb body weight.
Do not underdose. Ensure each animal receives a complete dose based on a current body weight. Underdosing may result in ineffective treatment, and encourage the development of parasite resistance.
PARASITE CONTROL PROGRAM: All horses should be included in a regular parasite control program with particular attention being paid to mares, foals and yearlings. Foals should be treated initially at 6 to 8 weeks of age, and routine treatment repeated as appropriate. Consult your veterinarian for a control program to meet your specific needs. Vetrimec Paste (ivermectin paste) effectively controls gastrointestinal nematodes and bots of horses. Regular treatment will reduce the chances of verminous arteritis caused by Strongylus vulgaris.
